This outdoor exhibit encourages the exploration and observation of nature. Poetry “hidden” throughout the space gave me the opportunity to explore media. Water-cut aluminum, silk-screened banners, high-pressure laminates, embossed brick, and hand-painted stones were used.

This exhibit blurs the boundary between play and science. Visitors can step inside a giant bubble, blow bubbles within bubbles, and make a giant bubble honeycomb. Aluminum piping, colored and clear Plexiglas with vinyl lettering were employed.

Designed to help visitors discover the ways animals find and eat their food. Live animals allow them to identify the predators and prey among the exhibit’s menagerie. Laser-cut foam, hot-knife cut banners, high-pressure laminates, and vinyl lettering were used.

Broken? Fix it! encourages visitors to weigh the impact of their replace vs. repair choices on the environment. The exhibit underscores the collective experience of repairing broken items and the importance of “fix-it skills,” including problem-solving, critical thinking, experimentation and collaboration, to 21st century learning.
